I mean I was really just matching Katz's tone, so I mean "racialist emoting and poor reasoning" definitely apply to his as well. But actually I would like to clarify my audience: while I wrote this in response to Katz and emailed it to him directly, I mainly wrote it for Princeton students who felt like they couldn't speak up. Hearing their reception of my piece since I posted it has not only reaffirmed my reasons for writing, but also strengthened my purpose as an academic and educator.
